Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, serve customers, and develop the team. You will oversee merchandising, scheduling, and store activities to ensure a welcoming shopping environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, enforcing corporate directives, maintaining fixtures, and safeguarding assets while promoting safety and respect across staff and customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Retail store management experience preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and compliance.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, and cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of store, bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
