Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. The role emphasizes assisting with merchandising, staff supervision, and daily workflows to ensure a smooth customer experience.

You will aid in opening/closing, scheduling, payroll, loss prevention, and maintaining a clean, well-merchandised store while upholding company policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; able to read and interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, restock bathrooms, sweep and mop floors, take out trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
