Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee store operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and develop team members. The role supports daily functions, merchandising, and compliance with company directives, while ensuring a safe, welcoming shopping environment.

The position emphasizes leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage opening/closing, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Retail store management experience preferred
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent standing/walking
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll/scheduling and cash handling
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash
• Train and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment
