Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, manage merchandise flow, and support the Store Manager in supervising staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, and repetitive tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including restrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
