Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in New Jersey. You will assist with daily activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and participate in opening/closing procedures while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

The role involves processing corporate directives, maintaining displays, and supporting payroll and scheduling tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team-based environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store operations and functions.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean and well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom, per company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure store areas are neat and presentable including bathrooms; perform cleaning duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
