Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. in East Meadow, NY seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, manage merchandise flow from delivery, and supervise store staff under the guidance of the Store Manager. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, organized store, meeting corporate directives, and ensuring a positive shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers with questions or concerns in a positive manner.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain storefront fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged items, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and ensure policy compliance.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing store associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness, restock bathrooms, sweep and mop floors, take out trash, and keep areas neat.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
