Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Middle Island location. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, and help ensure a clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment.

You will work closely with the Store Manager to train associates, manage opening/closing procedures, and uphold company policies while delivering exceptional service to customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain store areas and promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, payroll/scheduling, and deposits.
• Ensure store assets, safety policies, and loss prevention.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing store associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
