GameStop is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in all facets of store operations in Merrick, NY. You will lead guest service, drive sales, manage staff, and promote loyalty programs while ensuring a clean, organized shopping environment.

The role requires supervising Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders, training staff, and maintaining store compliance with company policies. Strong communication and leadership in a fast-paced setting are essential.

Qualifications

• Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or accredited bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
• At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
• Video game knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, answer questions, promote promotions, and thank guests.
• Assist with store operations, visuals, promotions, and guest relationships to drive sales.
• Process purchases/returns with POS, provide receipts, and maintain guest service standards.
• Respond to guest concerns promptly; escalate issues to the Store Manager when needed.
• Promote GameStop’s guest benefits and loyalty programs.
• Assist the Store Manager with onboarding, training, and policy compliance for staff.
• Schedule staff, manage breaks, and optimize shifts for guest service.
• Assist with payroll, paid time off, and time edits; ensure accurate timekeeping.
• Ensure store areas are clean, organized, and merchandised as per guidelines.
• Oversee Omni-Channel orders and ensure daily fulfillment.
