Job summary

Family Dollar in Augusta, Wisconsin is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and develop the store team. You will assist with merchandise flow and staff scheduling, while handling open/close procedures and following corporate directives.

The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, with strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and compliant store management practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and meet physical demands of walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision‑making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store fixtures and displays to promote promotions.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while interacting with customers and associates.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
