Job summary

Family Dollar in Wisconsin is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include supporting daily store activities, assisting customers, organizing merchandise, and helping with opening/closing procedures to ensure smooth operations.

The role also involves processing corporate directives, maintaining promotional displays, managing payroll and scheduling, loss prevention, and safeguarding assets while keeping the store clean,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; assist with loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Follow safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance with policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store areas clean and presentable, including bathrooms and floors; take out trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
