Job summary

Family Dollar in Fond du Lac, WI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with inventory, merchandising, opening/closing, and ensuring health and safety standards.

You will lead and train store associates, maintain a welcoming environment for customers, and help implement corporate directives while protecting store assets. This is a full-time role offering growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store/retail management experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store-fronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
