Job summary

Family Dollar in Prescott, AR is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations and deliver excellent customer service. You will support the Store Manager, supervise and develop Store Associates, and ensure adherence to company policies and standards.

The role requires strong communication, multi-tasking, and problem solving in a fast-paced retail environment. You will oversee merchandise, scheduling, and loss prevention to maintain a welcoming store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect company assets, including store cash and safety compliance.
• Adhere to policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and waste removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
