Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Arkansas LLC is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment. You’ll assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, organize stock, and ensure store safety and cleanliness.

The role emphasizes training and development of Store Associates, adherence to company policies, and maintaining promotional displays while supporting loss prevention and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Proficient in communication, teamwork and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness, restock bathrooms, sweep/mop floors, and take out trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
