Job summary

Johnny’s Markets is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Michigan. You will support store operations, lead the team on second and third shifts, and stand in for the Store Manager when needed to keep the store clean, stocked, and safe from morning to night.

You’ll drive customer service excellence, supervise staff, and manage HR tasks while ensuring sales goals and cost controls are met.

Qualifications

• Requires strong communication with employees, customers, and vendors.
• Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and adapt to change.
• Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle for work duties.
• College degree or two years of related experience or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Set store customer service standards and model friendly, efficient service.
• Guide team to maintain appearance and readiness of the store.
• Handle HR tasks including training, scheduling, and supervision per policy.
• Aim to maximize sales while controlling operating costs.
• Collaborate professionally with suppliers and vendors.
• Address customer complaints promptly and politely.
• Maintain store bookwork and communicate with home office.
