Johnny’s Markets in Kalamazoo, MI, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help keep our fun, friendly store running smoothly across all shifts.

You’ll lead customer service, train and supervise staff, manage scheduling, and work with suppliers while ensuring the store is clean, stocked, safe, and looks great morning, noon, and night. This full-time role offers growth opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• College degree or two years of related experience and/or training.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Proficient with basic computer software (Word/Excel/Email).

Responsibilities

• Lead customer service for the store and ensure friendly, efficient service.
• Provide guidance to keep the store and team looking their best.
• Train, schedule, and supervise staff while following HR policies.
• Help maximize sales and control operating expenses.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors professionally.
• Address customer complaints promptly and courteously.
• Maintain store bookwork and share documents with home office.
