Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store focused on the customer experience. You will support the Store Manager with supervision, merchandising, deposits, and store finances while protecting assets and reducing losses.

The role requires supervision experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to manage inventory, planograms, and deposits. This position involves cashier duties, stocking, and leadership in the Store Manager’s absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, and safety meetings.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandise is presented as directed.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control; assist with refunds and deposits.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
