Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop a high-performing team. You will assist with opening/closing tasks, merchandising, and inventory processes to maintain store standards.

This role requires strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced retail environment. You will work closely with the Store Manager to train associates and ensure a safe, welcoming

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and endure frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and functions.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise transfer from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain records (payroll, scheduling, deposits).
• Maintain store displays and promotional fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies including safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and colleagues.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, bathrooms, floors, and common areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
