Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help organize merchandise, assist with opening/closing, and ensure safety and policy compliance across the store.

The role requires strong communication and customer service skills, plus prior store management experience in retail or related sectors. You will supervise, train, and develop staff while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of store areas including bathrooms and floors; manage trash and restocking.
• Other duties as assigned.
