Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. in California seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and participate in opening and closing procedures.

This role requires strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills to supervise and train Store Associates, maintain a safe, clean store, and ensure store standards and promotional displays are upheld.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling/cash handling, and loss prevention
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all store assets and cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation
• Execute any other duties as assigned
