Job summary

GPM Investments, LLC, owner of the Scotchman brand, is seeking an Assistant Manager in Newberry, SC. The position offers $15.00 per hour, full-time with open availability for weekends, holidays, and second/third shifts.

As an Assistant Manager, you will support the Store Manager, run the register, coach the team, and assist with hiring, training, and daily operations. A sign-on bonus of $2,000 is available with staged payments at 3 and 6 months.

Qualifications

• Open Availability: weekends, holidays, and likely second/third shifts.
• Reliable Transportation: valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, insurance proof for deposits.
• Physical Readiness: comfortable with cleaning, trash, and outdoor pump areas.
• Minimum Age: 18+ years old.
• Communication Skills: proficient in English with basic math.
• Willing to Learn.
• Certification: Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Run the register and assist customers with speed, accuracy, and a great attitude.
• Coach and motivate team to upsell products and promotions.
• Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing team focused on customer service.
• Step in as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
• Maintain a clean store including restrooms and fuel pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules for full coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling, deposits, and oversee store financials.
• Provide feedback and leadership that motivates your team to excel.
• Other duties as assigned
