Job summary

GPM Investments' Scotchman on James Island is hiring an Assistant Manager for Store 3165. You will support the Store Manager, run the register, and lead a team to deliver great customer service and store performance.

Open availability, weekends and holidays, and second or third shifts are required. You will hire, train, schedule, manage inventory, deposits, and maintain a clean, welcoming store. This full-time role offers weekly pay, bonus potential, 401(k), and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Open Availability: must be available to work weekends and holidays and likely second or third shifts.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license, access to personal vehicle, and proof of insurance to complete bank deposits.
• Physical readiness: comfortable with cleaning restrooms, taking out trash, and maintaining outside areas like pumps.
• Minimum age 18+ years.
• Strong communication skills in English; basic math skills.
• Willing to learn new tasks and procedures.
• Certification: Food Safety Certification required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Run the register and assist customers with speed, accuracy, and a great attitude.
• Coach and motivate team to upsell products and promotions.
• Hire, train, and lead a high-performing team focused on customer service and store success.
• Step in as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store stocked.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming store including restrooms and fuel pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules to ensure full coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling and deposits and oversee store financials.
• Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team to excel.
• Other duties as assigned.
