GPM Investments’ Village Pantry in Muncie, IN is seeking an Assistant Manager to support daily store operations and customer service on second or third shifts, including weekends and holidays.

You will help manage cash handling, inventory, merchandising, and staff scheduling while upholding safety and cleanliness standards. This role offers weekly pay, a 401(k), paid time off, health benefits, and a path to store leadership.

Qualifications

• Open availability to work weekends and holidays, and likely second or third shifts.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance for bank deposits.
• Comfortable with cleaning, stocking, and maintaining areas like pumps outside.
• Minimum age 21+ years old.
• Proficient in English with basic math skills.
• Willing to learn and adapt to retail leadership roles.
• Certification: Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Run the register and assist customers with speed and accuracy.
• Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
• Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing team.
• Step in as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep stock full.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming store including restrooms and pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules for full coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling and deposits, oversee store financials.
• Provide leadership to motivate the team to excel.
• Other duties as assigned
