Job summary

GPM Investments' Village Pantry in Morristown, IN is seeking an Assistant Manager to keep our high-energy store running smoothly on second and third shifts. You’ll supervise operations, assist customers, and help coach a small team to deliver great service.

Open availability, reliability, and a focus on safety are essential. You’ll manage scheduling, cash handling, deposits, and daily tasks while supporting the Store Manager and striving for store success.

Qualifications

• Open availability: weekends, holidays, and likely second or third shifts.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and ability to complete bank deposits.
• Physical readiness for cleaning tasks and outside area upkeep.
• Proficient English communication and basic math skills.
• Willingness to learn and obtain Food Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Run the register and assist customers with speed and accuracy.
• Coach and motivate team members to upsell products and promotions.
• Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing team focused on service.
• Step in as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep stock full.
• Maintain a clean store including restrooms and fuel pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules to ensure coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling, deposits, and oversee store financials.
• Provide feedback and leadership to drive excellence.
• Other duties as assigned.
