Job summary

ALDI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support day-to-day store operations in a full-time role in the United States. You will help supervise staff, drive store performance, manage schedules, and develop action plans while identifying training opportunities to grow the team.

The position offers a 38-hour workweek with starting wages of $25.50 per hour and a wage increase to $26.50 in Year 2, reflecting continued career growth within a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.
• Prior management experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Meets state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results.
• Establish and communicate job responsibilities to direct reports.
• Identify training and development opportunities for team members.
• Model company core values and maintain teamwork.
• Monitor the competitive environment and suggest adjustments to maintain competitiveness.
• Provide product feedback and assist with item assortment decisions.
• Participate in interviewing store personnel.
• Ensure inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies are followed.
• Resolve operational customer concerns in the leader's absence.
• Maintain store cleanliness and proper signage.
• Assist with stock levels and product ordering to maximize sales.
• Merchandise products neatly and ensure signage accuracy.
• Support payroll and loss-control goals; assist with training new employees.
• Supervise day-to-day team operations and escalate issues when needed.
