Job summary

SecureSpace Self Storage is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in New Jersey. This role supports the Store Manager and leadership team to boost rentals, customer service, and store operations while promoting a strong brand experience.

We offer a $1,500 retention bonus paid after tenure milestones, growth opportunities with 30+ new stores planned in 2026, and flexible weekend scheduling to balance work-life commitments. Strong customer service and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in storage, retail, or hospitality.
• Proficient English communication, verbal and written.
• Proactive support to Store Manager and able to back them up.
• Customer-service oriented mindset.
• Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel.
• Willing to travel occasionally for shifts.
• Ability to identify maintenance, safety and fire issues.

Responsibilities

• Support team to surpass sales targets by promoting unit rentals, warranties and moving supplies.
• Guide new customers through the rental process for smooth transactions.
• Coordinate moving dates and ensure storage readiness and security.
• Assist in managing past-due tenant accounts and lien/auction paperwork.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and address client needs.
• Conduct daily property inspections for security, cleanliness and upkeep.
• Perform light gardening and property maintenance tasks.
• Operate power tools for maintenance of property and grounds.
• Communicate updates and recommendations to Store Manager and Leadership Team.
• Occasionally travel to nearby locations for scheduled shifts.
• Maintain weekend/holiday availability as needed.
