Job summary

Friedman’s Home Improvement in Sonoma County is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead our customer service/retail team at the Sonoma location. This role drives operational excellence, mentorship, and staff development, ensuring top service and sales results across departments.

You will plan daily workflows, interview and train new team members, and manage performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve customer experience and store profitability.

Qualifications

• Advanced education or training from college or university, with 5+ years in a retail environment or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Minimum mid-level management background with exceptional supervisory skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Microsoft D365 experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees departments of 20-40 Team Members.
• Develop future leaders of the organization through training in policies and SOPs.
• Understand the voice of the customer to elevate the organization.
• Coach and mentor; apply product, software, and operations knowledge.
• Move across floor/departments as Manager on Duty to assist team members.
• Responsible for opening and closing store duties.
• Interviewing, hiring, and training new Team Members.
• Plan, assign, and direct daily workflow within the store.
• Performance management through reviews, feedback, and rewards.
