Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, manage openings and closings, and ensure safety and policy adherence.

You will help supervise and develop Store Associates, maintain clean and well-stocked areas, and uphold high standards of customer interaction. The role emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and a strong service mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Adhere to corporate directives and store policies
• Maintain store displays and promotional fixtures
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record-keeping
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets including cash
• Ensure safety policies followed and supervise/train store associates
• Maintain clean and presentable store environment
• Other duties as assigned*
