Job summary

Dollar General is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a customer-first store and support the Store Manager in supervision, merchandising, and operations. You will handle stocking, cashiering, deposits, and paperwork while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, opening/closing the store, managing planograms, inventories, and financial controls. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cashier and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, paperwork and facility controls.
• Assist in planogram implementation and proper merchandise presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
