Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an attentive Assistant Store Manager in Ohio to help run a well-organized, customer-focused store. You will support the Store Manager with staffing, training, merchandising, and financial controls while ensuring excellent service and profitability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer’s purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training; conduct safety meetings and ensure policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and displaying.
• Maintain accurate inventory; control damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Implement and maintain planograms; ensure proper merchandise presentation per standards.
• Ensure financial integrity with cashier accountability, cash handling, refunds and deposits; count tills and deposit money.
• Assist with store management in Store Manager’s absence.
