Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Ohio to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will work under the Store Manager, supervise staff, help with merchandise presentation, paperwork, and deposits.

The role includes stocking, cashiering, opening/closing duties at least two days a week, scheduling, training, and enforcing company policies to maximize profitability and reduce losses while protecting assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Able to read safety rules and operating instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and process transactions.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and display building.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and controls.
• Assist with implementation and maintenance of planograms; ensure proper presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, and deposits; process refunds/overrides.
• Assist in Store Manager’s absence and overall store supervision.
