Job summary

Family Dollar in Iva, South Carolina is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to assist with store operations, customer service, and team development in a part-time role. You will support the Store Manager and supervise associates to ensure smooth daily activities.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, merchandising, payroll/scheduling, loss prevention, and maintaining clean, safe store conditions. The role emphasizes strong communication and a customer-first approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in retail, grocery, or drug store management preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform various motions as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness across the store, restocking, and waste removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
