Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our South Carolina location. You will assist with daily store activities and help train and supervise store associates, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment for customers.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, effective communication, and teamwork to maintain high standards in merchandising, loss prevention, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, bending, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
