Job summary

Five Below is hiring an Assistant Manager to support daily store operations in the United States. You will partner with the General Manager, drive customer engagement, and supervise the freight team and store associates.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in management, strong communication skills, and the ability to multi-task under pressure. Hours are hourly, with duties spanning opening/closing, payroll coordination, and inventory integrity.

Responsibilities

• Perform General Manager duties in their absence.
• Partner with General Manager regarding store issues, concerns and recognition.
• Exemplifies customer engagement by modeling behaviors.
• Analyze TruRating scores to identify opportunities to teach, train and recognize customer engagement behaviors.
• Identify shrink opportunities and develop plan of action to reduce shrink and own the ACO.
• Open and close store procedures and act as the manager on duty.
• Lead the freight team and all associates of the store while the Manager on Duty.
• Ensure Merchandise Movement Process is executed flawlessly.
• Lead and ensure the Pack away Process is completed within timeframes.
• Recruit, train, coach, develop and supervise all associates.
• Assist with scheduling to meet staffing expectations.
• Assist with payroll to ensure labor budget alignment.
• Execute zone sheet, daily store checklist, world recovery and damage processes.
• Review corporate communications and react accordingly.
• Use financial reporting to drive business and sales opportunities and control expenses.
• Authorize register functions including post voids, returns, and discounts.
• Set and maintain Market Plans, Signage, and What’s on the Way; ensure merchandising is timely.
• Ensure Inventory Integrity processes are followed.
