Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and develop the store team. You will assist with inventory, merchandising, and merchandising transfers from truck to floor, while ensuring cleanliness and safety standards.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a high-energy team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and reading/interpretation of directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers with questions in a positive, approachable manner.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Ensure adherence to policies, safety guidelines and conduct.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
