Job summary

Rural King is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily store operations alongside the Store Manager. You will drive sales, oversee merchandising, manage inventory, and promote a safe, engaging shopping environment.

You will coach and develop associates, participate in recruiting, and embody Rural King's values of People First, Integrity, Attitude, Initiative, Teamwork, Accountability and Continuous Improvement to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail leadership or supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
• Experience with retail operations, merchandising, inventory, scheduling, and customer service.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS systems, and inventory management software.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and a 50-hour workweek.
• Must meet federal requirements to qualify for a Federal Firearms License (FFL).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily retail operations and sales performance with the Store Manager.
• Lead recruiting, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and development of associates.
• Develop a positive, high-performing team through coaching and succession planning.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and drive customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Support scheduling, labor planning, inventory accuracy, and loss prevention.
