Job summary

Rural King is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily store operations, drive sales, and develop associates. This role partners with the Store Manager to ensure an outstanding customer experience and uphold Rural King’s values of People First, Integrity, and Continuous Improvement.

The role includes coaching, hiring support, and leadership responsibilities to build a high-performing team in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail leadership or supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
• Experience with retail operations, merchandising, inventory, scheduling, and customer service.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze business performance and drive improvements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily retail operations with Store Manager to drive sales and inventory.
• Monitor performance and implement strategies to improve productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support scheduling, labor planning, inventory accuracy, cash handling, shrink reduction.
• Lead recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and development of associates.
• Foster teamwork and development; succession planning.
