Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year experience in department manager or equivalent.
• Experience leading and coaching associates to meet goals.
• Ability to use KPIs, metrics, and data insights.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and influence others.
• Proven track record in customer experience, sales growth, and operations.
• Experience managing priorities while leading teams through change.
• Independent leadership of strategies delivering measurable improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager and associates in delivering a great customer experience.
• Lead merchandising and operational initiatives.
• Communicate action plans to associates based on survey results.
• Identify opportunities and develop timely store solutions.
• Model exceptional customer service and resolve issues.
• Manage total store operations in the store manager’s absence.
• Achieve weekly, period, and annual sales and budget goals.
• Drive sales with department managers to maximize profits and reduce shrink.
• Participate in budgeting discussions with associates.
• Analyze competitive landscape and report findings.
• Promote inclusion and work with union reps if applicable.
• Coordinate with field staff to implement merchandising plans.
• Build relationships with local community organizations.
• Develop leadership bench strength within departments.
• Supervise and coach direct reports; conduct performance reviews.
• Maintain compliance with laws and policies.
• Support adoption of new technology to improve performance.
