Job summary

The Peninsula Chicago is seeking an Assistant Director to join our Spa team to achieve the company's objectives and create a memorable guest experience. You will manage spa retail operations, supervise staff, and ensure facilities meet Five Star standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in a luxury property.
• Knowledge of PMS/Opera and some knowledge in rooms department preferred
• Ability to deal with high work demand and pressure, strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Oversee spa retail operations and personnel; ensure alignment with business plan objectives.
• Maintain spa facilities cleanliness; complete daily checklists and hourly walkthroughs.
• Delegate and supervise maintenance improvements and member requests.
• Recommend improved cleaning products or methods for sanitation.
• Monitor mechanical/electrical/heating facilities and respond to issues.
• Complete inventory system for spa services and products.
• Train, supervise, and schedule associates for coverage.

Key Accountabilities

• Manages spa retail operations and personnel. Ensures retail operations adhere to business plan objectives. Reviews and approves purchase planners, pricing recommendations and inventory tracking.
• Responsible for managing and ensuring cleanliness of spa facilities. Ensures completion of daily checklists and hourly walkthroughs.
• Delegates and supervises the completion of all maintenance improvements and member requests.
• Recommends improved cleaning products or cleaning methods toward optimal levels of sanitation and cleanliness.
• Monitors the operation of the mechanical, electrical and heating facilities through routine preventative maintenance and repairs and follows proper notification procedures in the event of equipment failure.
• Completes proper inventory system for spa services and products.
• Trains, supervises, and schedules associates to ensure continuous coverage and efficient service delivery.

General Requirements

• Must have at least 5 years of managerial experience in a similar role in a luxury property.
• Knowledge of PMS/Opera and some knowledge in rooms department preferred
• Ability to deal with a high level of work demand and pressure, individual must have great organization skills.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
