Job summary

Fortrex is seeking an Assistant Site Manager in Sanitation to support daily supervision of the sanitation crew and ensure the facility meets cleanliness and safety standards. The role involves coordinating with the Site Manager, reporting issues, and helping implement improvement plans in a fast-paced production environment.

You will lead staff development, ensure compliance with company procedures, participate in safety trainings, and liaise with customers and regulatory bodies as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 6 months to 1 year of related sanitation experience.
• General working knowledge of computers and technology.
• Ability to work in environments with extreme temperature fluctuations while wearing PPE.
• Ability to fluently speak, read, and write Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, measure, and report on operational issues and opportunities, and assist the Site Manager develop and implement improvement plans.
• Communicate with the Site Manager daily to report accidents, downtime, damage, and other important plant issues.
• Communicate with Corporate office regarding logs, payroll, chemical and supply orders, timesheets, etc.
• Complete weekly internal safety audits on staff and equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
• Set, monitor, motivate, and track goals for the sanitation crew regarding working safe, clean, and on time.
• Manage and develop direct reporting staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and policies including Technical Services, HR, Accounting, IT, and customer service.
• Assist Site Manager in training programs including safety training and ERP.
• Coordinate responses to governmental or customer deficiencies and report/investigate accidents.
• Serve as liaison with customers and attend sanitation meetings on behalf of the company.
• Follow-up with customers to ensure satisfaction and act as liaison with regulatory agencies as needed.
• Supported by HR, Payroll and Technical Services with government agency matters.
