Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to support daily shop operations, lead a fast-paced team and deliver a high-quality customer experience. You will step in as Manager on Duty, ensuring safety, efficiency and friendly service while driving process improvements and staff development. Automotive experience is valued but not required.

The role emphasizes hands-on training, clear career growth paths, and opportunities to advance within Take 5 through performance and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Commitment to safety policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to direct and coach.
• Initiative, accountability and follow-through on responsibilities.
• Calm, organized and solutions-focused during busy periods.
• Ability to meet age and certification requirements as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Shop Manager with daily operations and customer experience.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed and coordinate workflow.
• Train new team members and provide coaching and feedback.
• Perform Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting and follow-up.
