Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to support the Shop Manager with daily operations, team development, and fast, friendly customer experience. You’ll step in as Manager on Duty when needed, helping the team stay focused while keeping the shop safe, efficient, and running smoothly.

We provide paid, hands-on training to teach the technical skills and service standards needed to succeed the Take 5 way. Automotive experience is valued, but not required!

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months customer service experience in fast-paced service environments.
• Minimum 6 months leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Commitment to following safety policies and practices.
• Strong communication and ability to provide direction and feedback.
• Reliability and ability to stay calm during busy periods.
• Must meet age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification when required.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Complete our Certified Technician training.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed, coordinating workflow.
• Model fast, friendly customer service, address needs and resolve concerns.
• Ensure services are completed accurately while reinforcing procedures, safety requirements, and service standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
