Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring an Assistant Shop Manager to support daily operations, lead a fast-paced team, and ensure a smooth, customer-friendly experience in a busy shop environment.

You'll step in as Manager on Duty when needed, coordinate workflow, coach teammates, and uphold safety and service standards. Automotive experience is valued but not required; paid training is provided and growth paths are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months' experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others in a fast-paced environment.
• A commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills and comfort providing direction, coaching, and feedback to team members.
• Initiative, accountability, and follow-through on responsibilities.
• The ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods.
• Reliable transportation to and from your work location.

Responsibilities

• Support Shop Manager with daily operations and team development.
• Step in as Manager on Duty when needed, helping the team stay focused while keeping the shop safe, efficient, and running smoothly.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
