Job Title: Assistant Service Superintendent - Commercial Roofing

Location: Chicago, IL

Compensation: $80,000-$85,000 base salary + bonus + company truck + benefits

About the Opportunity

Tiello is currently partnered with an established Commercial Roofing Contractor in the Chicago market with a strong presence in the commercial roofing and architectural sheet metal industry. We are seeking an Assistant Superintendent for the Service Department to help coordinate daily service operations, support field technicians, promote safety, and ensure high-quality service work for our customers. This position plays an important role in scheduling, field coordination, communication, and job support to help service work run efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and uphold a strong MMRM safety culture in the field
• Schedule and dispatch service technicians for service calls, maintenance, maintenance inspections, and emergency work
• Coordinate with clients, general contractors, and other trades
• Attend job-site meetings
• Identify and resolve urgent issues to keep work on track
• Assist in supervising and supporting service technicians
• Review work quality in the field
• Identify materials and equipment required for service work within the budget
• Order and coordinate delivery of materials, tools, and rentals
• Assist with light estimating for service work
• Assist documentation to support billing and job tracking
• Work collaboratively within MMRM
• Represent the company with professionalism and integrity at all times

Qualifications

• Previous experience in commercial roofing, construction, service, or field operations preferred
• Strong understanding of job-site safety practices and ability to promote a safety-first culture
• Ability to coordinate schedules, prioritize urgent service needs, and communicate changes effectively
• Strong communication and customer service skills when working with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Ability to support and guide field technicians while maintaining professionalism and accountability
• Basic estimating, material coordination, or job documentation experience preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed

Physical and Work Requirements

• Ability to visit active job sites and work in outdoor construction environments
• Ability to climb ladders, access roofs, and walk job sites as required
• Ability to lift or carry materials and equipment as needed for field coordination
• Must be able to respond to changing priorities, emergency service needs, and time-sensitive customer requests
