Job summary

Rush Enterprises is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to support the Service Manager in running a productive, profitable service department. The role emphasizes staffing, customer retention, cost controls, and maintaining service records to ensure tuitioned time is sold to customers.

The position involves hiring, training, scheduling, monitoring performance with reports, and coordinating with Shop Foremen to meet corporate standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of service department experience in a commercial dealership environment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Assist Service Manager with staffing, coaching and training of service dept staff.
• Monitor performance with reports and tracking systems; report improvements to Service Manager.
• Assist with marketing plans to promote new and repeat business.
• Oversee Work-In-Process status with Foremen to maintain results per standards.
• Attend monthly department meetings and support Service Manager’s ideals.
• Coordinate with Shop Foremen on manpower schedules and department activities.
• Monitor technicians’ productivity and payroll records as directed.
• Ensure customers’ service files are up-to-date and accessible.
