Job summary

Chattanooga Goodwill Industries in Dalton, GA is seeking an Assistant Retail Store Manager to oversee daily operations of donated merchandise, ensuring adherence to agency policies, budgets, and customer service standards.

You will hire, train, and supervise store personnel, manage expenditures, maintain records, and uphold safety and confidentiality. This role requires leadership, reliability, and a commitment to the organization’s mission.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, preferred.
• Associate degree or completion of related retail management course work preferred.
• 3 years of supervisory experience in retail, manufacturing, production, or food services preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; bilingual a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Support Chattanooga Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, and Values in actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of agency, employee, and participants' information.
• Punctual and dependable attendance.
• Manage budget and expenditures in line with agency goals.
• Hire, train, evaluate, motivate, and supervise store personnel.
• Comply with SOPs and safety policies and procedures.
• Greet, assist, and provide excellent customer service to donors and customers.
• Assist and resolve any complaints with management.
• Maintain proficiency for tasks required in all workstations.
• Attend meetings and conduct monthly meetings with staff.
• Maintain all store records and reports accurately and timely.
• Meet store sales and production goals.
• Participate in safety trainings and adhere to safety rules.
• Assist at other store locations as needed.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
