POAH Communities in Chicago, IL is seeking an Assistant Property Manager for The Washington at Woodlawn Park to support the Property Manager in leasing, rent collection, and tenant certifications. This role emphasizes HUD/state housing compliance, coordination with maintenance, and maintaining high service standards for residents.

The ideal candidate has experience with government-assisted housing, specializes in occupancy and tax credit programs, and is proficient in Yardi and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with government-assisted and subsidized housing programs is required.
• Certified as a Tax Credit Specialist and/or Certified Occupancy Specialist.
• Hands-on experience in day-to-day operations, maintenance, marketing and leasing, and tenant certifications.
• Strong verbal, written and customer service communication; computer proficiency including MS Word/Excel/Outlook; familiarity with Yardi.
• Ability to foster a harmonious, cohesive team environment with staff and residents.
• Flexibility, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Property Manager with HUD/state housing compliance and operations.
• Help collect rents, process move-ins/outs in Yardi, and complete tenant certifications.
• Coordinate with staff in office and maintenance on daily activities.
• Ensure contracts include appropriate engineering specs for major repairs.
• Support safety, health, and regulatory compliance across all sites.
