Job summary

Sherman Associates is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support two senior affordable communities in Saint Paul, MN. You will coordinate marketing, leasing, and occupancy while delivering strong customer service and community relations.

The role requires 1–3 years in residential real estate, familiarity with PM software (RealPage, Yardi, Lead2Lease), and a valid driver’s license. Office hours are typically Monday–Friday, with some overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of industry experience within residential real estate or equivalent education/experience
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; ability to communicate with tenants, vendors, and cross-divisions
• Knowledge of RealPage or other PM software (Yardi, Lead2Lease, OneSite Accounting) strongly preferred
• Understanding of Affordable Housing Programs (HUD/MFHA) is preferred
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with insurance, and safe driving record
• Office hours may vary depending on portfolio needs

Responsibilities

• Mails appointments, shows apartments, screens applicants, and verifies applications.
• Shops comparable projects in the market monthly.
• Provide excellent customer service with focus on tenant retention.
• Meet all deadlines and manage property within budget constraints.
• Keep management informed on property conditions and tenant feedback.
• Assist with subsidy administration per HUD rules.
