Job summary

Hispanic Housing Development Corporation (HHDC) in East Chicago, IN, seeks an experienced Assistant Property Manager for a full-time role at our residential building. The position focuses on day-to-day operations, resident relations, and ensuring compliance with affordable housing standards.

Responsibilities include managing rent calculations, certifications, and documentation, plus coordinating with staff and contractors.

Qualifications

Affordable housing experience is required.
Minimum 2 years of multifamily property management experience.
Must have or obtain an Illinois Leasing Agent License within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Assists the Property Manager with daily property operations.
Processes resident recertifications, rent calculations, leases, and required documentation.
Conducts regular inspections of grounds and common areas.
Monitors vacant units and make-ready status.
Assists with rent collection, delinquency follow-up, and eviction procedures.
Conducts resident home visits and community outreach as needed.
Serves as a liaison between residents and community agencies.
Assists with oversight of office staff, maintenance staff, and contractors.
Performs other duties as assigned.
