An established property management organization is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a residential community in Brighton, MA.
This position works closely with the Property Manager and will assist with resident relations, leasing and occupancy, rent collection, property administration, compliance, financial processing, and coordination with the maintenance team. The ideal candidate has previous residential property management experience, strong organizational skills, and hands-on experience with Yardi.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Property Manager with daily property operations and administrative responsibilities.
- Maintain resident and property information within Yardi.
- Support rent collection, delinquency notices, resident account updates, and related documentation.
- Process applications, maintain waiting lists, and coordinate applicant eligibility documentation.
- Prepare and process move-in and move-out paperwork.
- Assist residents throughout the move-in process and ensure required documentation is completed.
- Process annual and interim resident recertifications and required notices.
- Maintain organized resident, unit, and property files.
- Assist with HUD and subsidy-related documentation, reporting, and payment reconciliation.
- Process security deposits, refunds, forfeitures, and related account activity.
- Enter and track maintenance work orders and assist with unit inspections and turnover coordination.
- Process invoices and maintain accurate vendor records.
- Assist with lease compliance, resident notices, and resolution of resident concerns.
- Support preparation of property reports, financial information, and annual budgeting.
- Communicate professionally with residents, applicants, vendors, maintenance staff, and other members of the onsite team.
- Provide general office and administrative support as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in residential property management preferred.
- Yardi experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with leasing, resident relations, rent collection, move-ins/move-outs, or property administration.
- Familiarity with HUD, housing assistance programs, resident recertifications, or compliance-related property management is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a busy onsite environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional and service-oriented approach when working with residents and team members.
