We’re on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as an Assistant Property Manager at Velair Property Management—are you ready to make an impact?
Sign-on Bonus:$1,500.00, with $500.00 paid at hire, $500.00 after 3 months, and $500.00 after 6 months.
Regular Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Location: Bloomington, MN
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with leasing and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with team members on marketing communications.
- Support and learn from the Property Manager in handling resident relations.
- Begin to understand and gain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to Fair Housing, property management, and resident needs.
- Support the make-ready process to ensure units are move-in ready.
- Ensure the property’s physical aspects are fully operational, safe, and visually appealing through routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and improvements.
- Maintain professional dress and appearance in accordance with the Velair handbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Willingness to develop leadership skills.
- Strong people, communication, and language skills (both written and verbal).
- Proficiency in computer systems and ability to master electronic systems (such as Yardi, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong reasoning, mathematical, and budgeting skills.
- Strong leasing and customer service skills.
- Commitment to diversity and inclusivity in working with all people.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Rent Café (training provided).
- Experience with Yardi (training provided).
- Experience with Tax Credit/Section 42 (training provided).
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A 2–4-year degree and previous experience in property management are preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license, ability to drive, and valid insurance.
- Commitment to career growth through Velair-supported/provided learning and development, including occasional travel for off-site training with infrequent overnight stays.
- Willingness to travel to other sites in the portfolio as directed to provide support.
- Must have a personal cellular phone for occasional business use (monthly reimbursement provided).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move 30 pounds.
- Ability to walk steps for property inspections.
- Primarily indoor work with occasional outdoor duties as needed.
